Finding a places to get your glassware personalised with permanent etch is getting harder and harder to find. So we have come up with this tutorial on using Armour Etch to Engrave Glassware. We made glasses for Mother’s Day this year but these are honestly so perfect for any celebration throughout the year.
Engraving glassware with Armour Etch is so so simple to do and the final product looks stunning!

What you will need;
- Amour Etch
- Cricut Joy
- Cricut Vinyl Scrap
- Fancy Glassware
- Somewhere to rinse your Glassware
- Gloves
- Mask
Method;
- Open up Cricut Design Space and design what dates, lettering or even a simplistic outline that you would like to cut. I say simplistic because Armour Etch wont work on very intricate designs. Once you are happy with your design, cut and weed out what you don’t need.
- This is now your stencil. Place your stencil onto your chosen glassware, either on the base or the bulb of the glass. We chose the base as we didn’t want to take away from the gorgeous Linear design the Coupe Champagne glass already has.
- Cricut design space tip, if you are putting text onto the base of the glass make sure you curve the writing so it wraps nicely around the base.
- Apply a thick – it has to be a thick layer in order to work- of the Armour Etch to the spaces in your stencil. Leave the paste to sit there for 10-15 mins. If you don’t leave it for long enough it wont etch all the way through and leave an even etch mark.
- Once you are sure the Etching paste has worked you can now go and rinse it off. Its important that you don’t touch the paste with your skin so please wear gloves.
