Method;
Using your cheap tape, we are going to tape up the glasses. This will give us the sections for the Red, Black White and Gold glitter to go. Creating that Santa jacket, belt, buckle and fur.
Starting with Mr Claus. Apply the red glitter for the jacket as seen in the pictures ( we also have video tutorials on our TIKTOK) To do this we are going to use our paintbrush to apply a thin layer of Mod Podge to the glass. When the application is how you want it sprinkle over the glued areas with the red glitter. Remove the tape and put aside to dry for 3-4 hours.
For maximum durability and full coverage we are going to repeat a layer of red glitter and allow to dry for a further 3-4 hours.
Its time to put the Santa belt on. In the middle of the red glitter paint another thin layer of Mod Podge, sprinkle over the black glitter, set aside for 3-4 hours to dry. Once fully dry dust off the excess glitter and apply another coat of black glitter. Let it dry.
Lets add some fur!
Paint Mod Podge into the center of the glass that we left black. Be sure to make this layer super even as white glitter is very unforgiving. It will show every imperfection and its the focal point of your glass.
Take a very fine paintbrush a draw a rectangle on the front of the belt in the center. Sprinkle gold glitter on there and you have a gorgeous Santa belt buckle!
Wait until dry to proceed with another layer of white. Leave your glass overnight to completely dry. Come back to it the next day and mix Mod Podge with a little water and step by step add a very thin layer to every colour. Do remember to wash your brush in-between each colour to stop cross contamination. Leave your glasses for a week to fully cure before using them.
Mrs Claus
Add your red glitter for her gown and allow to dry for 3-4 hours. Repeat this step.
Now onto Mrs Claus. She will be featured on an curvaceous wine glass. Using a piece of yarn wrap it around the glass making a V shape in the front of the glass. Using tape, secure the front and back of the string. Apply a thin layer of Mod Podge and carefully paint up to the string. Remove the string and yarn and tidy up the gaps before proceeding with the next step.
Using the width of our paintbrush we applied Mod Podge to the stem of the glass to create her belt. Sprinkle black glitter over your painted area and leave to dry.
Time to add some fur!
Using your Mod Podge apply a thin, very even layer of it around the top of the gown and sprinkle some white glitter on there. Remembering to be super attentive as white glitter shows any imperfection. Apply a second layer once dried.
Leave your glass overnight to completely dry. Come back to it the next day and mix Mod Podge with a little water and step by step add a very thin layer to every colour. Do remember to wash your brush in-between each colour to stop cross contamination. Leave your glasses for a week to fully cure before using them.
You can use this tutorial on ant glass type. It also looks great on stemless wine glasses.
