Customise glasses for your bridal party and make your wedding extra special. Perfect for bridesmaids, these gorgeous glasses are the perfect finishing touch for your special day. Read on to learn how to personalise bridesmaid glasses yourself easily on a budget.
What you will need;
- Champagne Flutes
- White Vinyl (or your choice)
- Cricut Joy
- Standard Grip Cutting Mat
- Masking Tape
- Alcohol Wipes
Method;
Choose a glass that will be suitable for your wedding, most Brides will select champagne glasses to gift to their Bridesmaid, as they can then be used on the big day to toast with.
Going with the colour theme of your wedding select a vinyl colour that matches.
We are going to use our Cricut Joy to cut our vinyl as its so quick an easy to use and perfect in size for this DIY.
Open up Cricut design space (or whatever cutting machine software you have) and type the names of your Bridesmaids individually. Select a font that fits your style. We are using Black Signature for its gorgeous flowing text. Create another text box and write the title of your Bridesmaids, Maid of Honor and even Mother of the Bride. I like to do this in a different font to complement the the other text. One cursive and one block writing looks gorgeous.
Measure the length of the cup of the glass vertically work out how long your text needs to be and adjust the text in Design Space to reflect this.
Select your Vinyl colour you wish to use, Black, Silver, White or Gold are the go to colours for me. However get creative and interchange your colours!
Put your Vinyl on to your cutting mat, load it in the Cricut Joy and send your artwork to be cut.
While the vinyl is cutting (which isn’t long as the Cricut Joy is just an absolute whizz!) wash your glasses with hot soapy water. Dry them thoroughly with kitchen towel.
To make sure there is no residue or oils from anything take an alcohol swab or Isocol spray and give the glass a wipe down with that. Avoid touch the outside of the glass from now on. This will also make sure that your vinyl has longevity as it will adhere very well to the glass.
Your Vinyl should now be finished, unload your mat and weed your vinyl.
I love to use masking tape but transfer tape also works. Use this to apply your vinyl to your glass.
Once stuck on use a squeegee tool to go over the masking/transfer tape to make sure every inch of your vinyl had adhered to your glassware.
On a 45 degree angle start to very carefully and slowly remove the masking tape. You can even use this piece of masking tape for your other names too.
And just like that you have super gorgeous Bridal Party Glassware on a budget! Now you can do some Whisky glasses for the Groomsmen! Or even some glitter glasses!
Until the next craft,
