Create your own personalised glassware with is a fast acting formula and great for people with zero experience to use.
The original glass etching cream according to the front of the box. Furthermore it is able to etch your piece of glassware in less than 5 mins using nothing more than glassware, Armour Etch, a stencil and a paintbrush!
It is intended for adults craft use only. So please keep it out of reach of children.
How do you use Armour Etch?
Firstly Armour Etch needs to be applied to a clean dry surface. Using a Over ‘N; Over stencils that you can buy from the company itself. I like to design a stencil in Cricut Design Space and cut it out of vinyl and use that as your stencil. So the only downside to that is that once you have used that stencil it will unfortunately have to be binned as it will be ruined and you wouldn’t be able to reapply it.
I then place my stencil over the top of my glassware, making sure it has no bubbles if using the vinyl technique. You don’t want the cream to seep under the stencil as the design will be ruined.
Therefore since it is a corrosive material please put on gloves and a mask for this part as you don’t want to get it on your skin.
Then using a paintbrush I apply the white paste across the parts of the stencil you wish for it to etch. You do have to apply the paste thickly in order for it to work correctly.
Wait for 5 mins, I like to wait a little longer as I am worried some places I may have not applied it as thick as needed.
After that, keeping my gloves on, I use running water to rinse off the cream. I like to use my paintbrush to help remove the cream off of my glass as well. Be sure to properly rinse your paintbrush afterwards.
Remove your stencils while under running water.
If you are using the Over ‘N’ Over Reusable Stencils Glass Etching Stencils rinse them off, dry them and you can put them away.
If using the vinyl just peel it off and safely dispose of it.
Now you have a beautifully etch piece of glassware, crafted so easily!

Tip: Sometimes you will find that your Armour Etch contains crystal like pieces, this is normal. If left contact with the glass it may leave darker patches of etched glass. In fact the company recommends that you continually brush the cream while you wait for it to etch your glassware. You can even brush those crystal pieces off over to the stencil.
